At the core of matibabu we are defined by the following;

  1. Together we are better

    We believe in the power of collaboration between teams, companies and communities.

  2. Breaking Barriers

    We fight to break barriers that still exist nowadays by empowering people with tools and technologies that allow them to live better lives

  3. Plug and Play

    We aim to be Clear. Simple. Understandable by everyone.

  4. Meaningful impact

    We are driven by a truly positive impact on human lives. For over 5 years we have been working through the development and testing of the different generation of prototypes. We started off as wanting to use technology to better process in our lives. We focused on malaria since most of us on the team have had different experiences with malaria and we could first hand relate to the challenges of accurate and fast malaria training.

TECHNOLOGY

Matibabu technology is broken down into 3 sections:

  1. App

    Easy to use mobile application to monitor, register and inform you about your current health condition. This software is an extension of the non-invasive device that provides updated information without any need to go to a health Centre or hospital.

  2. Yotta

    Real-time vigorous and responsive surveillance systems are critical for malaria elimination. Improved surveillance for malaria cases and deaths helps ministries of health and other malaria-fighting bodies determine which areas and/or population groups are most affected and enables them(countries and organizations) to monitor changing disease patterns. Strong malaria surveillance systems also help in the design of effective health interventions and evaluate the impact of malaria control programmes. Yotta under matibabu is aimed at building an ecosystem around the malaria diagnostics, (RDT and microscopy) including the matibabu device by providing real-time malaria surveillance through a dashboard that shows the geographical distribution and evolution of cases.

  3. Matiscope

    Technology & Experience disruptor that offers a cost-effective rapid early diagnosis of malaria which reduces the amount of medication, duration of treatment and number of people suffering severe effects from malaria infection.

    The future of matibabu

    At the forefront of cutting edge diagnostics for malaria, we are working around obtaining the best results from our clinical trials as we also work on obtaining approvals for the matiscope. This will drive us into commercialization and scale into the regions with a high malaria burden in the sub-Saharan region.
